The strong improvement of style that can be found in the Villa of Sarcedo than other works of Count Capra is due to a very unique and curious fact: the design of this villa, in fact, it would not be by Count Capra but the architect Ottavio Bertotti Scamozzi .
The attribution of the work to the architect Scamozzi comes from the “General Review of all expenditures made for the factory Sarcedo” held in his own hand by Count Capra himself. Records very precise and almost manic count concerning the construction of the Villa give us the dates of payment for the architect Scamozzi design realized, March 10, 1762, and the liquidation of the same, August 21, 1764 (the “diary” of Count Capra Archives can be viewed Porto-Colleoni Thiene). Villa door still written in large letters on the frieze of the Ionic order of the eardrum the name of the count. The Villa is one of the most important Neoclassical Venetian and stands chronologically between the Cordellina Montecchio Maggiore and the villa From Port of Vivaro; the facade is very scenic, with projecting portico and four columns impostante above the grand staircase leading to the entrance. The plant building has a fairly unique form, which places the living room in the center of the Villa, as if to symbolize that the room was that of most interest to the noblemen. Outside the Villa we find the same arrangement of the ‘700: the barns that divide the rich garden bordered on the side facing towards the street by a fish on the deck of which opens the entrance gate and, a bit’ hidden to the eye an observer, the gallery. The entire garden is enclosed by a fence that still has octagonal turrets at the corners entrance. Moving inside the Villa are beautiful frescoes and busts interesting though, unfortunately, any information dating back to their authors has been lost. Directly from the staircase leads to a vestibule decorated with elegant stucco hexagons that leads to the large and bright living room. From the vestibule and the hall it leads to all other rooms of the Villa. Of particular interest are the altar of the second floor and the domestic chapel.
